I like the paragraph that states " a hospital does not have to be wired to be safe" The area for the pharmacists to do their work and not be disturbed is a great concept. I work in a PACU and our pyxis though is is computerized is quite often stocked with incorrect medications stocked in the pyxis.
When confirming medications there should be zero distractions and this concept was a great idea
Kathleen, I enjoyed this article. I guess advanced technology is not always the answer, but once we get comfortable with it I'm sure it does help saves lives for the most part. We as professionals need to always be on the ball. That's what really saves lives. Thanks!
